Overview on offshore wind foundations at the IQPC-Conference in Hamburg
Due to increased water depths that the offshore wind farm operators have to deal with on sea, the demands on the use of foundation structures have risen. At the upcoming „3rd International Conference Offshore Foundations for Wind Turbines“, experts of the industry will discuss these and other issues. The conference will take part from 3rd to 5th of July in Hamburg and is being organized by the International Quality & Productivity Center (IQPC).
In different plenums, the development and challenges in the use of monopiles, large-scale monopiles, jackets, tripods, tripiles, suction buckets and gravity foundations are made on the subject. Planning and permitting, transportation and installation of the foundations are also on the program and will be reviewed as cost reduction strategies and those for mitigating noise during the installation processes. For instance, there will be one case study on large-scale monopiles, which will be eligible for deeper water and farshore sites, but which are not yet standard in comparison to regular monopiles. In this section, effects of wave loading on the structures, technical implications, the fabrication of such XXL-monopiles and aspects of logistic and installations are crucial.
Among the speakers are experts from Alstom Wind, Ballast Nedam, Bilfinger und Berger, EnBW, EWE, Repower, Vattenfall, etc.
